Kanisha Memorial Fund

NetIP-SFBA was approached by six-year-old Kanisha's family and friends in mid-April to help raise funds for her luekemia treatment in Bangalore. NetIP-SFBA Charitable Foundation, a 501c(3) organization, set up an online fund and the chapter held fundraising events for her.

Through the support and dedication of our members, volunteers, family and friends of Kanisha and company matching programs, we raised over $18K.

Kanisha started her chemotherapy in mid-March and appeared to maintain a stable condition. However, complications arose a few months later and her condition deteriorated rapidly and without much warning. Sadly, Kanisha passed away on June 22.

NetIP-SFBA Chapter and Charitable Foundation will continue our efforts to raise funds and help other children in similar situations. We have established the NetIP-SFBA Kanisha Memorial Fund in memory of Kanisha.

Kanisha

With great sadness, we inform you that Kanisha passed away on Wednesday, June 22. She started her chemotherapy treatment in the middle of March and appeared to maintain a stable condition. However, complications arose last week and her condition deteriorated rapidly and without much warning.

We offer our condolences to her family and we pray her soul rests in peace.

Many of you helped raise funds for her treatment at our events, online fund and company-matching programs. Thank you for your dedication and support.

The family wrote to NetIP-SFBA: "We will always remember the moral and financial support you gave us during the trying times. We will always be grateful to you for what you did."

NetIP-SFBA Chapter and Charitable Foundation will continue our efforts to raise funds and help other children in similar situations. We have established the NetIP-SFBA Kanisha Memorial Fund in memory of Kanisha.

Fundraising events:


• Online Fund
  NetIP-SFBA set up a fund for Kanisha. With help from members, friends and family of Kanisha and company matching we raised a total of $18K+ for her. All contributions are to NetIP-SFBA Charitable Foundation, a 501c(3) organization. The Foundation donated $500.



• Fundraiser Mixer for Kanisha, May 27, Mountain View
  Our fundraiser mixer for Kanisha saw 70+ people attend. The evening started out with Salsa lessons by Jimmy from jsmoothsalsa followed by DJ beats from Andy Atta. We raised $700+ from this event.



• Sports Day & Fundraiser for Kanisha, May 21, Santa Clara & Fremont
  40+ NetIP sports enthusiasts came together for a soccer tounament in Santa Clara and to play some volleyball, tennis and basketball in Fremont. In the process, we raised $300+ for Kanisha.
